Pinnacle Cart is an ecommerce shopping cart platform that’s been around for a while now. They have a popular enterprise solution that powers Corona, Dexter, Entourage, the UFC, and more. Their hosted SaaS shopping cart isn’t nearly as popular. I haven’t bothered to review them yet because from what I hear they’re not a strong solution compared to carts like BigCommerce, Shopify, and Volusion. Anyways, I followed them on Twitter the other day and to my surprised I received a rather strange DM.
So apparently Pinnacle Cart is a religious company. News to me… not that there’s anything wrong about it, I was just surprised. Nowhere in their ‘About Us‘ section do they mention anything even remotely religious. Also notice they haven’t released a press release since 2010 – also a little strange.
Anyways, what are your thoughts on this? Do you think it’s strange that the only place they mention their religion is via automated Twitter DM? Would you let this affect your decision while deciding on an ecommerce platform?

That’s really odd. Why would they seem to hide it on their website, and then all of the sudden, out of the blue, DM you “Stay Blessed” on Twitter?
Oh well – no that wouldn’t make me go with them, or not go with them… but it is weird.
Hey Jessica: Thanks for the comment! Glad to hear you wouldn’t let this affect your decision to go w/ them.
Either or, its a great product and great team. Their one of the few carts around that you can totally customize and its DSS compliant to start with. Right now, for DSS Magento, you have to purchase their high end product, which is costly. Their team is real solid and they care about their clients.
Dave: Yup, Magento certainly is expensive! I’m happy to hear you have had good experiences with Pinnacle Cart.
I’m thinking about reviewing their platform soon. Feel free to share more of your experiences with Pinnacle Cart via comments, or my email “ecommerce.james2@gmail.com” – I’d love to hear from you!
Thanks for reading and commenting!
Pinnacle was a huge pain in the neck for the last few months since I started working with it. Despite the fact that it has tons of useful inbuilt features, it is a real nightmare to dig into the code trying to customize it. I would never user Pinnacle again.
Elena: Thanks for commenting!
May I ask which ecommerce platform you decided to move to – and why?
I find it ridiculous that this is even a topic of discussion.
“Stay blessed” sounds like nice thing to say to anyone, religious or not.
Are they prothletising on the site? Are they trying to convert you to “their” beliefs or make you a believer? NO they’re not.
Relax people. Other than all the Chinese products you use (where religion is banned), you might be shocked to find out how many companies run on faith, and efficiently.
Tim: I just think it’s strange that the only place they make any reference to holding a specific religious belief is via Twitter DM. From a marketing standpoint I think a lot of people would find this interesting.
Also, religion is not banned in China. What are you talking about?
I’ll agree with James, I find it interesting. Maybe it would bring them to success:)
Thanks ECS!
Hi All,
I don’t know the first thing about Pinnacle Cart, but I think maybe you are reading too much into this.
I’ve found this is just how some people say “bye.” There’s a cashier at my local Target who says “Have a blessed day” when she gives me my change. No harm, no foul – I guess maybe she’s religous or that’s just her “thing” (like how a friend of mine hates my goodbye/sign-off – “Take care” – for some reason).
I may be wrong, but I’m guessing it’s likely that this “view” (if it is a view) is purely that of this individual and not representative of Pinnacle Cart.
Jimbot: Ya you’re probably right. Thanks for reading & commenting! Stay blessed!
… well at least they’re better than ShariaCart: They declared a fatwa against my site when I asked them to remove “goats” as a payment option for my US site.
Man, that was racist!
lol. Racist? who said anything about race?
Surely your assumption that it is a religious company is nonsensical..
There is no such thing as a religious company..
There are of course religious people, so while a company does not muddy its shopping cart products pages with its staffs religious beliefs, a staff member may certainly want to pass on a ‘blessing’ in a personal note to a customer or contact!..
